Like its predecessor, this book truly is a gem. With a little more conflict in this installment, Klune’s writing continues to embody joy, love and family, leaving me with a sense of hopefulness for humanity. I laughed out loud while getting to learn more about the unique personalities of each of the children (Chauncey, the bell hop, is a favorite), but also shed a couple of tears at the tenderness with which they welcome a new family member. I recommend this book for anyone who wants to add a little magic to their day.

“Returning to Marsyas island is like coming home after a long trip — you are immediately enveloped in warmth and comfort. This novel is a celebration of queer families and inclusive communities. It’s exactly what we need to be reading right now!”
